Vehicle Wrapping FAQs

What is a Vehicle Wrap?

A Vehicle Wrap is a process where we literally wrap up your vehicle in printed graphics transforming the vehicle body into a powerful branding tool for your business with limitless advertising potential.
Using adhesive vinyl Stewart Signs can fully transform your vehicle’s appearance to anything you like. Full colour matched panels to your corporate brand, logos, text or detailed digitally printed images can turn your fleet into moving advertisements with endless design possibilities.

What are the benefits of vehicle wrapping to my business?

Vehicle wrapping is a cost effective alternative, or addition, to other advertising media. Vehicle wraps protect your paintwork against stone chips and minor abrasions and can be easily removed returning it to its original colour without the need for expensive repainting or losing residual value at the end of its commercial life.

Can I wrap just part of my vehicle?

Naturally, Vehicle wrapping is most effective when the whole vehicle is transformed with a design, but you can chose to wrap just part of the vehicle, such as the rear doors or side panels to achieve some outstanding results on a smaller marketing budget.

How long will the wrap last?

We use the best wrapping films on the market to ensure you get the best value for money. You can trust Stewart Signs to specify materials which suit the individual fleet need. Whether you need your campaign to last 5 weeks or 5 years we’ll find the best material for the job at the best price.
Working with manufacturers like 3M and Avery Dennison many of the films we work with are specified to last up to 7 years without fading and we manufacture all our wraps with a protective laminate to keep it fresh and vibrant.

How do you handle design process?

Not only can we print, laminate and apply your vehicle wraps, we can even help you on the design. With nearly 50 years experience in the trade we’ll consult you on any challenges in your design such as fitting into recesses and complex body curves ensuring what looks great on paper looks just as good on your vehicles.

Can you wrap windows too?

While there are legal and safety ramifications involving wrapping certain windows on a vehicle, perforated window films are a great way to continue a wrap over rear windows with perforations in the material enabling you to still see through the graphics.

How visible will joins / overlaps be on a vehicle wrap?

From the distance your customers will normally see the vehicle; any joins in the graphics are completely unnoticeable. Depending on the type of wrap you are looking for and the complexity of the vehicle varying results can be achieved. There are 3 main options in terms of a wrap
Paint Replacement – Where the entire vehicle body is wrapped including much of the internal recesses and doorframes giving the appearance of a total respray.
Standard Wrap – commonly unseen areas of the vehicle like the roof remain unwrapped along with internal door frames and edges can be seen when close up.
Part wrap – Only a portion (up to 50%) of the vehicle is wrapped with lettering and logos applied as decals on unwrapped areas.

Do you wrap the inside of the car?

Interior wrapping is possible depending on the interior substrates. With a vast range of material designs and textures at our disposal we’ll talk you though the options and how intricate a wrap can be achieved on the interior consoles.

Is the vehicle wrap easy to change or remove?

As another advantage over painting, any vehicle wrap can be changed or removed and we’ll consult you on the best practice based on your individual specification.
Whether you choose to de-fleet the vehicles yourself or we do it for you, Stewart Signs specify quality adhesives which make changing individual panels to reflect small changes in the advertising or returning the vehicle to its original state stress free.

What if the vehicle is in an accident?

We know accidents can happen so once your wrapped vehicle is repaired we can often reprint individual panels to replace damaged parts without the need to replace the entire wrap.

Will the wrap damage my paintwork?

Using specialist vehicle wrapping films to your vehicle should not damage your paintwork, unless there is a fault with the paint or if for any reason the paint has not bonded properly to the panel.
If you already have stone chips, abrasions or rust patches on your paintwork these may need to be fixed prior to application so that when the vinyl is removed it doesn’t pull loose paint off with it.

How long does it take to wrap a vehicle?

To minimise your downtime and provide a thorough service we will carefully timetable Wrap manufacturing and application to suit your fleet operations. With teams of wrapping specialists ready to implement any size project, we factor in variables like removal of old branding, .size and complexity of the vehicle to delivery perfect results in a realistic timely fashion.
