Edinburgh’s First Wrapped Tram Takes To The Tracks

POSTED 03.01.17 EdinburghRailTramTram WrapWrap

Stewart Signs Rail were in Scotland last week specially wrapping one of Edinburgh’s trams in time for Christmas – not with paper and bows but with high profile messaging aimed at promoting the city’s key events.

The tram, which officially entered service last weekend promotes the Festive season and upcoming Hogmanay celebrations to passengers.

Following a rapid in-depot application by our expert graphic installers, it marks the first advertising wrap for the transport operator, funded by the council to promote major flagship events and drive passengers to experience the best of what Edinburgh has to offer.

Edinburgh Trams General Manager, Lea Harrison said:

“Our trams offer a fantastic opportunity to promote attractions such as the Festivals, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Royal Highland Show and we’re planning to work with organisers next year to promote the events at the same time as emphasising that our services offer a perfect transport option.

“Wrapped trams are common in other cities with light rail networks but this is the first time we’ve used the approach in Edinburgh. With the tram travelling through the heart of the city all day, every day it’s a great chance to give our prestige events a further boost.”
