Supporting Education in Rwanda through Caffè Praego Kivu Beans

POSTED 08.05.26

At Stewart Signs Limited, sustainability and social responsibility are not limited to the work we produce for our customers, they extend into the everyday choices made across our business. Even something as simple as the coffee in our vending machine is helping to create meaningful, long-term impact.

Through the Caffè Praego Kivu Beans supplied by Bettavend, each box of coffee used contributes directly towards supporting children’s education in rural Rwanda. This initiative is delivered in partnership with The Point Foundation UK, a charity dedicated to improving access to education and essential resources for children in these communities.

What makes this initiative particularly powerful is its simplicity. Every cup of coffee enjoyed in our workplace forms part of a wider ethical supply chain that helps fund school attendance, learning materials, meals, and transport for children who would otherwise face significant barriers to education. Over the past four years alone, the programme has supported more than 4,300 days of education, helping to give children in rural Rwanda the opportunity not only to attend school, but to thrive within it.

For many of these children, access to consistent education is not guaranteed. Factors such as poverty, distance from schools, and lack of basic resources can all contribute to irregular attendance or even complete exclusion from the education system. Initiatives like this one help to reduce those barriers in practical ways—ensuring children have the support they need to stay in school and focus on their learning.

The Caffè Praego Ethical Scheme reflects a wider commitment to responsible sourcing and ethical trade. It demonstrates how our everyday business decisions, such as choosing a coffee supplier, can be aligned with our values that extend far beyond the workplace. Rather than treating sustainability as an optional extra, it has become embedded in our routine operations, creating a continuous and cumulative positive impact.

While our core focus is delivering high-quality graphic solutions, we also recognise the importance of working with suppliers who share a commitment to ethical practices and community support. Partnerships like this allow us to ensure that even small, everyday purchases contribute to something greater.

We are proud to work with suppliers like Bettavend, who prioritise ethical sourcing and social impact, and to support initiatives delivered through The Point Foundation UK that make a tangible difference in communities that need it most.

As we continue to grow as a business, we remain committed to ensuring that our operations reflect our values. Whether through the materials we use, the partners we choose, or the everyday items in our workplace.
