Stewart Signs wrap The Beatles Story train for Merseytravel's ultimate Ticket to Ride!

James Street station in Liverpool was positively buzzing with Beatlemania yesterday (10.10.2011) when Merseyrail unveiled their Fab Four inspired advertising wrap campaign, promoting The Beatles Story - a key tourist attraction in the city from Merseytravel.

The wrap has seen the 37-year old Merseyrail Class 508 transformed into a colourful mobile marketing campaign utilising the prominent advertising space on the units and really helping the city's key tourist attraction stand out on the track.

Working on the units in Birkenhead, Stewart Signs Rail removed the old branding livery to the base surface before preparing and wrapping each carriage in the 3 car unit with detailed digitally printed images featuring some of the most iconic scenes in the band's history.

During the launch a Beatles tribute band serenaded passengers embarking on its first journey with some fantastic feedback on the advertising wrap cropping up all over the web.

Merseytravel's Director General Neil Scales commented; "Having the trains covered in vinyl advertising works out cheaper than actually having them painted... We've had all-over advertising on buses for years, so why not trains?"
