What we did
Temporary Signage for Cruise Liner- Stewart Signs installed high-impact temporary signage for Ventura, combining speed, precision & quality
Stewart Signs delivered a temporary signage solution for the Ventura, a flagship P&O Cruises vessel based in Southampton. First, our team removed three existing signage panels located 45 metres above ground. Each panel weighed around 50 kg. The team then installed a temporary branded cover to maintain the ship’s identity.
Project Overview
Stewart Signs aimed to remove the existing signage while keeping the ship’s name visible and brand-compliant. The panels’ height and weight posed significant challenges. Therefore, the team relied on specialist experience and equipment to complete the work safely and efficiently.
To tackle these challenges, the team used a truck-mounted boom lift. They accessed and removed each panel carefully, coordinating every step to protect personnel and the vessel. Additionally, a full risk assessment and strict health and safety procedures ensured the work proceeded smoothly.
Installation
After panel removal, the team installed high-duty, tensioned a temporary cover over the exposed areas. This cover kept the ship’s name clearly visible and complied fully with P&O Cruises’ branding standards. They also acted as a barrier, protecting the vessel from wind, dust, and other environmental factors.
The project followed a staged plan. The team installed each cover immediately after removing the corresponding panel. This approach minimised disruption and ensured the Ventura maintained a professional, brand-compliant appearance throughout the works.
Project Outcome
Stewart Signs completed the project safely, efficiently and to a high standard. We maintained brand visibility while managing a complex, high-level installation. Overall, the work demonstrated our expertise in marine signage and strong commitment to safety and quality.
The temporary cover served several key purposes:
- Brand Visibility: The ship’s name remained legible to passengers, crew, and port personnel.
- Safety: The cover provided a stable, secure surface over the exposed area at height.
- Environmental Protection: It shielded the vessel from dust, debris, and marine conditions while in place.
