Stewart Signs manage Highway Visibility for National Grid HGVs

8th April 2010

These eye catching vehicles will be easy to spot on the roadside thanks to Stewart Signs market leading vehicle conspicuity services.

The HGVs are used by National Grid for upgrading and maintaining UK gas distribution networks. Often carrying out work on high-speed roads and in poor visibility the vehicles are required to be conspicuous and multi-branded to signify the partnership between companies.

Stewart Signs were asked to manage livery and application of 28 new tippers, grabbers and dropside vehicles working with other members of the supply chain to fit during the vehicle conversion process. Each vehicle needed co-operative branding so Stewart’s liaised between the partnering companies providing a selection of visuals to agree a corporate standard.

Completing the project in stages within the agreed vehicle delivery schedule Stewarts encouraged ordering the livery in bulk while invoicing for work as it was completed to create volume savings without affecting the distribution of the client budget.

Using a quality material specification for a longer lasting livery  Stewart Signs prescribed the reflective chevrons to meet Department for Transport Chapter 8 guidelines. The material choice also meant the livery would remain compliant for the duration of the project while many inferior fluorescent solutions struggle to resist lifting, cracking and fading, often becoming virtually useless after 12 months.

Stewart Signs offer a full vehicle conspicuity package as part of our livery management services. To discuss your fleet please contact us or you can order your chevrons for your specific make and model of vehicle online now at our specialist site www.highwayvisibility.co.uk
